Collection Management

This section is responsible for acquisition of library materials, stock management and the presentation of library materials.

Cataloguing Sections

This section catalogues and classifies newly acquired library materials.

Electronic Section

This unit manages the electronic information resources and the management of electronic facilities in the library.


Library Orientation

Training programs are organized on how to effectively utilize library resources.


Users who are registered with the Library can borrow library materials with exception of books tagged as reference.

I.T Services

The library provides information technology services to aid in research work.

Information Literacy Skills Course

The library also provides a fundamental training with regards to the usage of the library resources.

Printing, Photocopying and Scanning

Printing services are made available to users.


  • Silence is to be observed in the Library at all times.
  • Smoking in the Library is forbidden.
  • Food is not allowed in the Library.
  • Eating is prohibited in the Library.
  • Water and for that matter drinking is not allowed in the library.
  • Rattling of pages of any book is not allowed.
  • Patrons are forbidden from talking loudly, likely to distract the attention of other readers.
  • You may borrow one book at a time for one week (7 days). Remember to return books on or before the due date.
  • Bags must deposit with the clerk at circulation desk.
  • Firearms and offensive weapons are not allowed in the library.
  • Pets are not allowed in the library.
  • The entry and use of mobile phones, small radios and walk-mans prohibited.
  • No seat shall be reserved by or for any reader. The library staff will clear that after 20 minutes.
  • The library staff will inspect all items being taken out
  • No borrowing is allowed during inter-semester break.
  • All borrowed materials are to be returned three days to the end of each semester.
  • Failure to return all library materials by the end of the Academic year may result in Examination results being withheld till the books are returned and all overdue fines paid.



 For an overdue book the offender will be liable to pay GHs 2.00 per day up to 7 days; thereafter GHs 5.00 a day plus loss of borrowing facility till books are returned. This includes faculty as well as administrators.

For the loss or misplacement of books and related materials, the offender will pay twice the current price of the book including shipping and handling charges plus a procession fee of GHs 100.00.


NB: The library employs the usage of the ‘LIBRARY OF CONGRESS CLASSIFICATION’ in this case to put all books in their various categories
